I always love a bit of a good deal so when the opportunity arose to head off into town to check out the wares, I didn’t say no. Now , if you are not from Durban – your ‘town’ may not have anything in common with ours. I say this , because when walking in the CBD you have got to take many precautions – this means wearing no gold jewellery , not carrying a bag and by all means, try to leave your cellphone at home if it is not essential. You will be weaving in and out of crowds on the sidewalk, trying to avoid the hawkers who are displaying their products on the street and trusting your own instincts when crossing the road because some drivers don’t pay attention to traffic lights anymore. It is definitely a trip and a dangerous one at that, so if you’re in Durbs – make sure you have one of the residents give you some tips.
OK, despite all of that – there are some cool stuff available at great prices and if you spend some time looking around, you will find that there are certain stores who are more expensive than the others. Believe me, there are gems out there – you just have to look for it…
I got this longer length cardi from town and I quite like it, it is thick so it is ideal for the cold, winter days and the days when the air-conditioning in your office makes it feel like the Arctic. It fits me snugly and is absolutely comfortable that I can’t imagine not owning one.
I wore my ‘N’ necklace that I bought like a million years ago and my fave neutral shoes at the moment from Zoom 🙂
Do you shop in Town or are you a mall rat?
