{Review} African Extracts – Rooibos Deep Cleansing Face Mask

Rooibos is a unique tea which is naturally decaffeinated and is proudly found in South Africa’s fynbos. It has been hailed for all its amazing health properties and while it is well-known as a tea, it can also be applied topically.

Rooibos can aid in treating acne and eczema, has anti-ageing properties and is hypoallergenic and antibacterial. I have acne-prone, oily skin as many of you may know if you have been following my blog. The range that I used many years ago to assist in my battle with this skin condition was excellent but unfortunately did not offer a face mask. I went out on a limb and purchased the Rooibos Deep Cleansing Face Mask from African Extracts and was very pleased with the effect it had on my skin. While it is not a miracle product promising overnight success, I really felt a difference immediately after using it.

It has a brown, clay-like colour to it and a great thick texture when applied to the face. My skin felt refreshed and many of the blackheads on my nose had been reduced considerably. I found the application of my make up was easier and my skin just had this ‘clean’ feeling which I always look for in skincare products. I did not have any breakouts or negative skin reactions to this product and that was definitely a plus for me.

This product is available at Dischem and as a budget-buy, I think it is definitely worth it! Let me know if it works for you 🙂
