Ponds Flawless Radiance – BB Cream {Review}

BB creams are all the rage right now because many of them promise that the one product can do so many things. I received the Ponds Flawless Radiance BB cream at the Durban Blogger Meet and was excited to try it out.

The flawless radiance range has a number of products. From the Ponds website , this is what they promise of their BB cream:

A light, non-oily, multi-benefit cream. Experience instant, natural coverage that is specifically designed to match your African skin tone, whilst our GenActivTM COVER formula evens skin tone and reduces dark marks from within.

Key Benefits:

  • Instant natural coverage

  • Reduces dark marks
  • Evens skin tone
  • Protects from UVA and UVB rays (SPF30++)

To be honest, I usually don’t wear any make-up to work, and so I needed something that provides some type of coverage without being time consuming. This is the second BB cream I now own so I was keen to see how this one measured up.

I love the packaging, the pink and silver exterior gives it a feminine and glam look which, of course, every girl needs. The twist – cap closes tightly and securely without the possibility of leakage.

It always happens that I never have much time in the morning and I must say, this was an easy one to use and so quick to apply. It is just what I need to get to work on time but still look like I made an effort 🙂

My skin is usually very oily but I did find that this cream didn’t make it greasy neither did it clog my pores.

I have noticed , as with my other BB cream that it doesn’t have a stayfast quality – I tried touching my face with a tissue after a few hours and found residue on it. On another occasion, my cheek touched my husband’s white t-shirt when I put my head on his shoulder, and later there was a brownish stain on it. The good news though, is that it’s easy to wash off, some soap and water is all you need and its gone.

I did find that the colour matched nicely to my complexion and provided some good coverage. I didn’t expect full coverage as this isn’t a foundation, so I kept my expectations in line with this.

Unfortunately, it only comes in two colours, chocolate and beige but from other reviews I have read, many of those who tested this BB cream found that it matched their natural shade.

It also has a built-in SPF of 30 which is great for us, who don’t always remember to put on sunscreen (guilty!). Plus it is the perfect size for travel so pop it into your handbag and carry it with you for a touch up wherever you go.

This BB cream retails for R89.99 for 25ml. I still find this a bit pricey for a small tube but if it delivers on all of its promises , it’s worth it.
