Living in Durban usually means humid days and hot and sticky nights which leave your jackets and knitted sweaters gathering dust in your closet.
However, I have noticed the cooler, rainy weather making an appearance – especially during this week and thought I would let you know what my key three key pieces for this type of weather is:
1. The Biker Jacket
I love this piece because it is perfect for the colder, rainy weather and you don’t need to worry about it getting drenched. This is usually the case if you’re braving the downpour in any type of soft fabrics. You can dress it up with killer heels or dress down in knee high flat boots. It gives you the biker chick look and you don’t even need to own a motorcycle. The only thing you’ve got to own is the look.
You can find this key piece (depending on your budget) at various stores:
2. The Knee High Boot
I am not a fan of the thigh high boot , my go-to is the knee high. If you don’t have a good pair of these – I have to ask : Does it not rain where you live 😐
Here are my picks:
3. And last but finally not least, you should own a pair of well-fitting Skinny Jeans. Anyone can wear it – you have just got to get the right size with the right fit. A dark wash pair can be teamed with a white t-shirt to dress it down or you can wear a glam sequinned blouse and still look the part. Don’t be afraid of taking a larger size, if you take a size to small, there is going to be some unsightly muffin-top and no one wants that ! Get a good pair of jeans and you won’t regret the price tag.
Style it your way hon!
